Dana: External auditors to arrive next Monday

The long awaited audit of Dana Air and other domestic carriers by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) may finally commence next week as external auditors from Europe and America invited by the NCAA to join in the audit will arrive the country next Monday.

Immediately on arrival, the external auditors are expected to commence operational and mechanical audits of the sus pended Dana Airlines.

The audit of the airline is expected to be concluded by December 4, after which the auditors will submit their report to the regulatory body, NCAA.

According to a source in the regulatory agency, it is not certain when the auditors would finish their work but other things being equal, they are expected to finish the auditing by December 4, 2013.

It will be recalled that NCAA had, on Sunday, October 6, 2013, suspended the entire operations of Dana Air following an air return it had on its Port Harcourt-Lagos route.

NCAA had said that the air return raised some safety concerns over the airlines' op erations.

The long delay in the commencement of the audit has attracted criticisms from key players, describing the delay as a ploy to Mil the airline.
